Student flute

Generally silver or nickel plated head, body and keys, price range up to $1000

Intermediate flute

Generally solid silver head, solid silver, or silver plated body, and silver plated keys, price range $1000 to $4000. Lower end solid silver flutes under $4000 would also be in this category.

Handmade professional flute

Generally solid silver head, body and keys, or a combination of silver, gold and platinum, price range $4000 and up.
